Bogie and David welcomed Coach Hunter Ames, Christian Sparks, and Ken-Ken Story of Lanett High School to Johnny’s New York Style PizzaWednesday night for this week’s edition of CVSC.

Johnny’s New York Style Pizza of West Point Player of the Week – Christian Sparks – Lanett High School

The fans have voted Christian Sparks the CVSC Johnny’s New York Style Pizza of West Point Player of the Week. Sparks, a junior from Lanett High School, had a big contribution in the Panthers’ recent 14-12 win over rival Lafayette.

Christian was 3 for 5 at the plate and had 4 stolen bases in the game. He was also steady behind the plate for the Panthers, being part of a big double play in the 6th inning that helped secure the road victory for Lanett.

Coach Hunter Ames stated that Christian “really came through big for us against Lafayette. He’s been improving all year and I’m excited to see what’s in store for him his senior season next year.”

While not making the playoffs, the Panthers did pick up their second win in  the last four games as they ended the 2018 season on a positive note with a 14-10 win over Notasulga at Jennings Field.

Johnny’s New York Style Pizza of West Point Player of the Week – Kristian Story – Lanett High School

This week’s CVSC Johnny’s New York Style Pizza of West Point Player of the Week is Kristian Story, a sophomore from Lanett High School. This past week, Story was 4 for 4 against Beulah and Horseshoe Bend. He collected 2 singles, a double and a triple with 2 RBI’s. As Lanett rebuilds their baseball program, Coach Hunter Ames stated that Kristian “is a constant motivator on the team and helps in coaching up some of the younger players on the team.”

Story is a multi-sport performer. He quarterbacked the football team to the 2017 state championship and also was part of the 2017-’18 state championship basketball Panthers. Kristian recently committed to play football for the University of Tennessee after graduation.
